Stephanie Chow

Stephanie Chow is an alumna of the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. She enrolled at the university in 2004—only one year after it opened— and received her Bachelor of Commerce in 2008.

Her career includes extensive experience in the areas of financial reporting, accounting, governance and internal control processes. As Manager of Finance at The International Group, she prepares and leads the consolidated financial statement and pension audits; analyzes month-end financial reports; and ensures compliance with Canadian and U.S. tax filings. Previously she worked as Audit Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC).

During her university studies she held a Research Assistant position, where she investigated issues related to the acquisition, storage and consent of personal health information. She also volunteered as:

  • Member of the Faculty of Business and Information Technology 2008 Dean Search Committee
  • UOIT Student Ambassador (September 2004 to April 2008)
  • Student Session and Web Co-Chair of Privacy Security Trust (2006)

She has also held volunteer roles in the areas of:

  • Student coaching (Future Possibilities for Kids)
  • Building and empowering community leadership by promoting corporate social responsibility (PwC Canada Foundation)
  • Business advising for grade 10 to 12 students interested in launching their own startups (Junior Achievement Company Program)
  • Organizing corporate fundraising events (PwC Big Bike team in support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation)
