Dear members of the university community,

‎You will recall the ‎university's Board of Governors has begun its process to recruit a new president. The Committee to Recommend a President has now completed the formal consultation process and would like to thank the university community for their active engagement and extensive input. The comments we received through the listening sessions, face-to-face consultations, telephone interviews and online surveys have been very helpful to the Committee in developing a profile. The online survey remains available.

By mid-April, the presidential profile will be released and the call for applicants will be underway. The university community will be notified when this takes place.

As a reminder, the following individuals make up the Committee to Recommend a President:

    • Adele Imrie – Committee Chair and Spokesperson
    • Doug Allingham – Governor
    • Don Duval – Governor
    • Miles Goacher – Governor
    • Glenna Raymond – Governor
    • Mary Simpson – Governor
    • Valarie Wafer – Governor
    • Mikael Eklund – Faculty member
    • Glenn Harvel – Faculty member
    • Hannah Scott – Faculty member
    • Nell Redley – Staff
    • Brandon Ramdial – Undergraduate student
    • Ololade Sanusi – Graduate student

The Board is confident the consultation process was successful in helping develop a candidate profile that will serve the university well as the Committee moves through the process to recommend the university’s fourth president. As always, the Board of Governors will continue to ensure the university community is kept up-to-date throughout the remainder of the process. All updates and information can be found on the Presidential Search 2017 website.

    Sincerely,

Adele Imrie Chair, Board of Governors

Dear members of the university community,

‎You will recall the ‎university's Board of Governors has begun its process to recruit a new president. The board recently announced the mandate and membership of the Committee to Recommend a President (CRP). The board also announced that the CRP had selected the executive search firm Knightsbridge Robertson Surrette to provide support to the CRP during the consultation process, development of the candidate profile and beyond.

In the last couple of weeks, the CRP developed an extensive list of stakeholders to be contacted for consultation. The CRP has also developed a plan to ensure the community has ample opportunity to provide input into the candidate profile for our next president. The CRP worked to develop a consultation plan that will make it as easy as possible for all stakeholders to be heard, with multiple opportunities through either listening sessions, face-to-face consultations, interviews, or online surveys. The CRP consultations will run throughout the month of February.

CRP members will participate in all aspects of the consultation process and oversee the process as a whole. As well, the CRP will attend an educational session regarding diversity and equity considerations intended to help them throughout the presidential search process. The mandate of the CRP requires that the vision, mission and values for the university be reflected in all of the committee’s deliberations.

The CRP has organized separate faculty, staff and student listening sessions at both the north and downtown campus locations. To make the CRP consultations convenient, the CRP will visit previously scheduled faculty, staff and student meetings, where possible. The CRP will also speak with external partners from a variety of sectors, university donors and community leaders. Finally, an online survey is available to all internal and external stakeholders. The CRP website details all of the CRP consultations, including dates, times and locations, as well as the online survey.

As a reminder, the following individuals make up the Committee to Recommend a President (CRP).

    • Adele Imrie – Committee Chair and Spokesperson
    • Doug Allingham – Governor
    • Don Duval – Governor
    • Miles Goacher – Governor
    • Glenna Raymond – Governor
    • Mary Simpson – Governor
    • Valarie Wafer – Governor
    • Mikael Eklund – Faculty member
    • Glenn Harvel – Faculty member
    • Hannah Scott – Faculty member
    • Nell Redley – Staff
    • Brandon Ramdial – Undergraduate student
    • Ololade Sanusi – Graduate student

The board is confident that this extensive consultation process will assist in the development of the candidate profile as the CRP moves through the process to recommend the university’s fourth president. The Board of Governors will ensure that the university community is kept up to date throughout the entire process. Please continue to visit the CRP website for current information.
